My name is Shao and welcome to my recipe keeper, my food diary, and my travel log.
I was born in Guangzhou (Canton), China and moved to the Center City area of Philadelphia with my parents when I was five years old.
I started this blog to combine my interest in food, cooking, and photography together. For me food has always been an important part of my life. It has kept me connected to my Chinese roots; learn about different cultures; and a way for me to express a little bit of myself to my friends, family, and hopefully now to you, my readers.
My blog is place where I store and share my family recipes, concoctions from my own food experiments (both the good and the ugly), and finds from my favorite magazines and books. I grew up with Cantonese cooking, but I’m a fanatic when it comes to trying something new.
