Hello, my name is Shao and welcome to my recipe keeper, travel log, and food diary.

Born in Guangzhou, China, I have been living around the Center City area of Philadelphia for over twenty years. I started this blog to combine two of my favorite interests: photography and cooking. I believe we eat with our eyes first, but we should never judge a dish simply by its appearances and even smell. For me food is meant to nourish, a vehicle for storytelling, and a way for me to say “Thanks for always being there.”, “You’re the best.”, and “Never give up.”
