I always knew I will return to my birth city, but I never expected it to be this year. While this was my third time back to China, my first visit was in 1991, this would be the first time I ever traveled north of the country to Beijing. My trip begins in Guangzhou, and I spent the majority of my time in the city and traveling outside to its nearby districts Shunde and Dinghu. Hong Kong and Macau was also on my itinerary and finally my last stop was in Beijing.

Yes, I haven’t posted in a month and the first post I make is via the iPhone.
I was going do a proper post on these cute little lemonade cupcakes I made last weekend, but something came up and now I find myself flipping through the pages of the April issue of Saveur trying to hunt down places to eat in San Francisco and Seattle. Yup, I’m off to the Emerald City and San Fran (I can’t think of any nicknames for the city off the top of my head).

Konnichiwa and hello from Japan! After 3 flights and 1 bus ride, I am in Himeji. Located in the Hyogo prefecture and in the Kansai region of Japan, Himeji is best known for its castle, the Himeji Castle or also known as the White Heron Castle. I’ll be staying here for a few days and then it’s off to Osaka and Kobe, which are both near by, follow by Tokyo and Okinawa. Although my stay in Japan this time will be brief, about 2.5wks, compare to my 2.5months 3yrs ago, I can’t wait to visit all the places I’ve been before and the new ones I’ve yet to seen. Now on to the food!
